Create an invisible folder in a specified directory. The folder and it's name will have no display, in a sense.
1) Make a new folder on your desktop.
2) To make the folder have an "invisible name", I will be using the "No-Break Space" character from the Character Map (Accessories > System Tools > Character Map). You can either select the NBS Character, copy+paste it into the folder's name or use the NumPad combination of Alt+0160 (Hold Alt, then press zero, one, six, zero). The results should look like this:
3) Now for the folder being "invisible". This is simply an icon change. For this, Right-click on your folder > Properties > Customize. Look to where it says Folder Icons (or some variation. I'm doing this on Win7 and can't remember what it's like on XP/Vista) and click Change Icon. This is where you should be at this point:
After you click Change Icon, a menu will pop up to change your icon (obvious statement). You're going to want to scroll a bit to the right until you see 1-3 spots where it seems as if there is no icon. I picked the top of these to use for my folder.
Click Ok, then Apply. Now click Ok in the Properties menu and you should have something like this:
Spoiler (Click to Hide)
So yeah, that's my quick+easy tutorial on making a "Stealth Folder". Hepful for hiding things when you have to leave the computer and don't have time to logoff/shutdown or can't because of work or whatever.
Yay simple techniques!
